Summary[]

Jessica suddenly must learn all about football when she inherits an interest in a professional team.

Trivia[]

The book the man at the front desk is reading is one of Jessica's.

Takes place in New Mexico, evidenced by the 505 area code on the retirement van at the beginning of the episode and the New Mexico license plate on the hearse.

Both David Doyle and Warren Berlinger worked together on Charlie's Angels (1976).

The trivia item below may give away important plot points.
When Jessica is telling the murderer how she caught him, she explains that she planted a false clue, hoping he'd take the bait. She had him searching for a brass button which supposedly came off his blazer. Jessica says, "This really wasn't an original idea. When I was in Los Angeles, a button actually did trip up a killer." She's referring to the crime in "Hooray for Homicide" season 1, episode 4.

Victim: Phil Kreuger

Killer: Web McCord

Cause of death: Drowning.

Motive: He wanted to own the team, but Phil refused to sell his shares.

Goofs[]

When Jessica is interpreting her discussion with Zach's daughter, she incorrectly uses the word 'love' when the word that is signed is 'like'.

When Jessica turns off the water for her bath she finds a button she's missing on the bottom of the tub. She reaches her left arm into the water to pick it up. Someone is at the door and when Jessica goes to answer it, she dries her right arm with a towel, not her left.
