Trivia[]

  • Some may have wondered if the overbearing property billionaire "Roland Trent", played by the late Ron Leibman, is meant to remind us of businessman and future President Donald Trump. The assonance of the name and the fact that the character owns his own skyscraper may be clues.
  • The late Pat Hingle, who plays the titular character, is probably best known for playing Commissioner Gordon in the series of Batman movies of the 90's (and is one of only two cast members, the other being the late Michael Gough as Alfred, to appear in all 4 films).
  • If you look closely you can see Pat Hingle is missing his left pinky. He was in a terrible accident where he fell 54 ft. down an elevator shaft. He fractured his skull, wrist, hip and most of the ribs on his left side. He broke his left leg in three places and lost the little finger on his left hand. He lay near death for two weeks, and his recovery required more than a year.
  • Seventh of 14 "bookend" episodes which feature Jessica introducing the story; the others are Murder in a Minor Key, The Grand Old Lady, Jack and Bill, Class Act, Good-Bye Charlie, & Murder - According to Maggie.
  • This is the second appearence of Carolyn Seymour. Other appearances included It Runs in the Family and Another Killing in Cork.
