Trivia[]

Murray and Mack are likely inspired by the famous comedy team of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin with Murray the goofy Lewis-like one and Mack the smooth, straight-man singer, ala Martin. Martin and Lewis also had a very acrimonious split, although they later reconciled on an episode of Martin's variety show thanks to Frank Sinatra.

Steve Lawrence and Buddy Hackett had earlier played the roles of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in the TV movie "Bud and Lou." Moreover, Buddy had actually taken the place of Lou Costello, with Jerry O'Neil in the role intended for Bud Abbott in the 1954 film "Fireman Save My Child."
