An unpopular show-business personality discovers that elaborate security systems are no guarantee of safety.

Trivia[]

The trivia item below may give away important plot points.
At the end, Jessica says, "ballistics will prove that the bullet came from your gun". It's impossible to do a ballistic test on a bullet fired from a gun using a "silencer", that's partly why they're illegal here in the United States.

Correction: Suppressors and silencers do not affect the ballistic markings of a fired round at all. All a suppressor does is trap and slowly release the gas pressure created by the fired bullet thus reducing the sound and maybe reducing the range by a few meters. The only way a suppressor would affect ballistics is if it were damaged internally. So no, Jess was right.

Victim: Johnny Shannon

Killers: Sgt. Barnes and Milo Valentine.

Cause of death: Gunshot wound to the rear of skull.

Motive: To retrieve an incriminating video that implicated Valentine in an fixed election.

The Case-breaker: Sgt. Barnes knew the missing portrait was of Johnny and his kids.

Milo Valentine

Milo Valentine is the unseen main antagonist of Murder at the Oasis. He is a mob boss who Johnny Shannon knows. Johnny Shannon tried to blackmail Milo Valentine by getting him to admit to fixing an election on tape. Valentine hired Sgt.Barnes to kill him. Sgt. Barnes

Sgt. Barnes is a police officer who doubles as a hit man. He is the secondary antagonist of the episode. He accepts a job from Milo Valentine to kill Johnny Shannon. He then tries to pin the crime on Vic LaRosa. Barnes is caught and arrested for the murder. He will probably turn state evidence.

Terry Shannon

Terry Shannon is a supporting character in Murder at the Oasis. She is the daughter of Johnny and Peggy Shannon, and the sister of Mickey Shannon. Terry is a very beautiful young woman. She has a poor relationship with her parents and brother. She is also quite mean towards her boyfriend, Vic LaRosa. She is not evil, but isn't very kind either.
