An archaeological dig at the site of Coronado's City of Gold does not please everyone and a new corpse is dug up.

Victim: Raymond Two Crows

Killer: Cynthia Armstrong (with Dr. Stan Garfield as an accomplice)

Cause of death: Drowning, after falling into a puddle when he was hit on the head with a rock.

Motive: Blackmail regarding her scheme to sell artifacts from the dig site to earn enough money to be rid of her husband, Gideon Armstrong.

Supposedly the chanting Indian appears at the same time nightly on the top of the cliff but is always gone by the time the security guards run up the hillside to catch him. When Cynthia Armstrong chastises the guards for not catching the Indian, the guards ask her what she suggests they do to get him. Since the Indian appears at the same time every day...why not just go up the hill a few minutes early and catch him?
