Michael Abruzzi succeeded his father Carmine Abruzzi as head of a Boston mafia family after his mother, Rosa, killed her husband. He is determined to leave the illegal business of his father for the sake of her wife, Denise, and their soon-to-be-born baby; therefore, he is often at odds with his hot-tempered brother, Salvatore Abruzzi, and family lawyer Andrew Owen.
