Irina Katsa was a dancer and Alexander Masurov's former mistress. He eventually decided he didn't love her anymore and was planning on returning to his wife, Natalia. But before he could, the Masurovs were threatened with deportation and, to prevent this as she thought Alex still loved her, Irina murdered Serge Berensky, the KGB agent who was to do the dirty deed. She was heartbroken when she got caught and told Alex why she did what she did, only to find out he no longer loved her.
