Irene Terhune is a mention character and the younger sister of Mildred Terhune. After she was born, she was left in care with her aunt Helen in Michigan before she got baptize. Mildred had to stay home and take care of their dying mother. When Irene was nine, Mildred lost contact with her. It turns out that Irene and her aunt died of flu that year and there were no one who informed Mildred. It was first when Irene and Mildred’s uncle Curtis died and had made them heirs in his will that his lawyer found out about Irene’s death, but he didn’t inform Mildred at first, because he didn’t know that Mildred was unaware of that. Mildred first learn of her sister’s death, when the lawyer arrived in Cabot Cove to deliver the inheritance.
