Summary[]

Jessica is suspicious when the appearance of the ghost of a long-dead witch burned at the stake coincides with the release of a book on the very subject.

Trivia[]

Dee Wallace and Christopher Stone were married at the time of filming.

The title is based on the three witches' dialog in Shakespeare's 'Macbeth' (Act IV, Scene I): "Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble."

1 of 48 times Dee Wallace and Christopher Stone appeared together on screen, all but 1 while they were married in real life.

Victim: Irene Terhune/Annie Gordon

Killer: Adam Frobisher

Cause of death: Blunt force trauma from hammer blow.

Motive: Believed she plan to collect part of the inheritance of his wife, Mildred Terhune.

Goofs[]

Twenty people were accused of witchcraft and put to death. Nineteen people were hanged and one was pressed to death. No one was burned for witchcraft in the USA.

Jessica (Angela Lansbury) states that you don't get jet lag when traveling west-to-east. This is untrue. Jet lag is present in both east-west and west-east travel and is worse for those traveling west to east.

Mildred had no way of knowing that she was being scammed by "Irene", who she thought was her sister, you tell me as to how she knew in the so-called sister act for her to know about having a Witch in the family , so I can't see her knowing of the apple farm, much less Mildred knowing of that farm, so explain as to how Adam knew of the farm. Then this: was it ever established that he made up an excuse to check on the apple orchard in order for him to know what it really was?

Rick Rivers was talking to Annie on the phone to convince her into continue scamming Mildred, but, not once did he ever bring up that he went to Mildred's home, with Annie dead, & that Adam hid when Rick came in, the question why he was able to walk right into Mildred's home, given for one thing, he wasn't invited over & much less, he didn't get permission to just walk into Mildred's home, now did he?
