Friend Of J.B. Fletcher.

Captain of his own fishing boat and local handyman around Cabot Cove. Quite often he could be seen in Jessica Fletcher's home fixing something. 

A sidekick for Jessica during her Cabot Cove investigations, mostly driving her to various locations, he would occasionally -albeit inadvertantly- say something which would clue Jessica into unravelling the mystery. 

In later seasons the character was replaced with Doctor Seth Hazlitt as sidekick and friend of Jessica.
