Andrea Reed was George Reed's wife and the birth mother of the late Johnny Crane (Pamela Crane's husband). She was a woman who had a lot of money, something her husband coveted dearly.
While the two of them were on a cruise together, George poisoned Andrea and made it look like a suicide. He hoped to collect her money, as divorcing her would mean leaving it all behind.
George was eventually found out by Jessica Fletcher and arrested.
