Summary[]
After her publisher announces his impending retirement, Jessica heads to NYC where she is simultaneously wooed by potential new publishers and a smooth-talking jewel thief.
Trivia[]
This was Keith Michell's first appearance as recurring character Dennis Stanton.
The title is based on "A Little Night Music" which opened at the Shubert Theater in New York on February 23, 1973 and ran for 601 performances. The opening night cast included Len Cariou, Hermione Gingold and Glynis Johns. The 2010 revival starred Angela Lansbury who also did the musical "Sweeney Todd" with Len Cariou who starred in the original version of "A Little Night Music".
Victim: Axel Weingard
Killer: Miles Hatcher
Cause of death: Strangulation
Motive: Weingard was going to pull out of selling condos with him, which made it hard for him to find other investors and would ruin him.
When Dennis had seen the Weingard safe open, that meant that it was closed before he saw the safe open, so with it closed before he saw it open, how did Miles get the necklace without knowing the combination in order for him to give it to Stanton at the bus terminal in the denouement of the episode ?
